LOCAL FILMMAKERS

Many professional filmmakers choose Saguenay as their home, to live and create either long or short movies, or documentaries.

The REGARD – Saguenay International Short Film Festival gathers every year filmmakers from all around the world, Canada and Quebec. It starts the festivities with “Saguenay’s evening”, exclusively dedicated to regional filmmakers. regardsurlecourt.com

Two academic programs specialized in the art of cinema bring people from all parts of the province. Saguenay becomes their first playground to experiment techniques, make movies and get a great deal of experience.

La bande Sonimage is a nonprofits organization that has been created to help local filmmakers through trainings, grants and production support. La bande Sonimage stimulates them with orders and special projects, so they can gain experience. The organization maintains a list of all the regional resources, which represents about 60 people. bandesonimage.org
